(UN) The United Nations - as of early1997 - has a peacekeeping force of 25,649 soldiers. Out of the 185 UN member states, 71 nations provide peacekeepers. Though the United States may foot the lion's share of the UN budget, the USA contributes only 759 soldiers to the UN peacekeeping force. That doesn't even make the top ten:
